Test HD switching with streaming video

Here we are testing a new beta feature called HD switching. The player switches from a low resolution video to a HD version. In this case we use streaming because the video picks up where it left in the low resolution version, which is only possible with streaming.

How to set a S3 bucket to private streaming on Mac

View the video tutorial below to learn how to transform an S3 bucket into a private streaming CloudFront distribution. That's quite a mouthful of complicated words, but trust me on this, it is very easy to accomplish.
For this purpose, we use CrossFTP, one of the only S3 clients capable of setting private streaming for CloudFront distribution on BOTH Mac and Windows. I tested many applications on Mac and most of them  simply don't cut it at this time of writing.

How to set file permissions on S3 Amazon

In this video tutorial we show you how to set permissions for your audio and video on S3 Amazon and/or CloudFront. However, you can set permissions for any file you like. You need an application to do that and we recommend using CloudBerry S3 Explorer as it is the most versatile application at this time of writing.  The application is freeware and you can download it here.

How to create a skin for JW Player

skin-shotBelow you can see the skin elements of of the control bar.  As you can see, they consist of small images which you can easily change. The best way to start a skin is by copying an existing one. In the installation zip (s3mediapro.zip) is a folder called: skins and in that folder is a  sub folder called Beelden.  I used that one as a basis for Polished Metal, included in this module.

How to use TimedText for subtitling

TimedText is quite simple. It is a straightforward XML file and it has the begin time, end time and the sentence to display. These are enclosed by a paragraph tag (HTML) per subtitle line. Below you see an example of a subtitling with the video below it.

How to create Closed Captions using TimedText

Closed caption works like subtitling explained in How to use TimedText for subtitling, but difference is that you are required to indicate sounds and music in the back- or foreground with square brackets. You use the TimedText format for this, which is quite easy to do.

How to add modules in an article

Since WordPress is fundamentally different from Joomla, this 'plugin' has its own approach, but there is no coding involved, just like the Joomla!- version.
